Republic Ranches is honored to offer this iconic ranch, rich in history and incredible beauty, located just 45 minutes north of Santa Fe. El Sueno Del Corazon – Dream of the Heart – is a tranquil piece of paradise that begins in the lush Chama river bottom and climbs into the rugged, majestic crimson mountain range leading to the Santa Fe National Forest. This sprawling 6151 acre ranch dates back to the early 1700’s when Spanish colonists first settled in the Chama valley. Rarely does an estate of this size and quality become available so close to a major tourist destination. El Sueno Del Corazon offers an investor the ideal palate to paint their very own “Dream of the Heart”.
The grand hacienda has been home to many prominent, dedicated and highly regarded families. El Sueno Del Corazon was frequently visited by iconic artists Georgia O’Keefe and Joseph Imhof. In the 1940’s, Joseph Imhof lovingly supervised the restoration of the hacienda. The renowned artist made certain that every detail of the renovation was perfect, even to the point of the locating the ideal colored mud to be utilized for the adobe walls. He loved this home so much, in fact, that he inscribed in the hand carved door and mantelpiece “La Casa Del Valle Feliz”, which mean the House of the Happy Valley.
A short stroll through the century old Cottonwoods leads you to the charming 1895 adobe brick Ruth House, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. This delightful two-story home embodies the distinctive characteristics of the Mormon dwellings built at the turn of the century. The Ruth House was lovingly named after the bible verse Ruth 1:16, “Whither thou goest, I will go.” The current owners lovingly restored the Ruth House in 1994, taking every detail into account, even replicating the original wallpaper and porch columns.

The ranch has not been hunted in the past 25 years and is ready for your touch. The ranch lies in Unit 51A, while the current owners never applied for elk tags a new owner is free to pursue that passion should they desire.
Mule deer will be the predominate big game animal on the Plaza, the ranch also has groups of elk moving across throughout the year.
