El Rancho Grande


Location: El Rancho Grande is approximately 1,630 acres of land located in Jim Wells County, Texas, along the north side of F.M. 735, approximately 4 miles west of US Highway 281, and approximately 15 miles west of Kingsville, TX.

Habitat and Wildlife: The ranch has the ideal environment for deer, dove, quail, and hog hunting. In addition the sandy loam soils give the backbone for a good cattle operation. 

Improvements: The main gate and entrance road are located along the north side of F.M. 735. This main ranch road leads to the hunters cabin in the south portion of the ranch. The hunters cabin has an estimated 760 square feet of total living space, consisting of two separate units. Each unit features a living/dining area, one bedroom, one bath, fully equipped kitchen and heating/air-conditioning units. It is equipped with electricity, water well and septic system.

Water: The ranch has one large pond, two electrical water wells and two windmills.

Other: There is some low cross fencing for cattle rotation and a set of old cattle working pens.

The ranch is also located a short distance west of the Santa Gertrudis Division of the historic King Ranch known for its cattle operations and approximately 10 west of the Kingsville airport. There is also a full service airport on the south side of Alice, approximately 10 northeast of the subject.

Again the habitat of the ranch is well suited for the South Texas hunting experience. The ranch habitat ranges from open motte type country for quail hunting, areas of thick brush and scattered large mesquite trees throughout the ranch.
