Abiquiu Lake:

Fishing:

There are also ample opportunities to fish some of the best rivers in the state within 1-2 hours of the ranch.  These rivers include:

  • Vallecitos River –  small stream that see little fishing pressure
  • Brazos River – great terrestrial/dry fly fishing in summer to early fall; upper part offers fantastic alpine meadow fishing
  • Upper Chama Basin below El Vado Resevoir – state record brown trout was caught here
  • Los Pinos – easy wade fishing and great dry fly in the summer
  • Conejos – very pure river boasting prolific bug life in the summer
  • San Juan River below Navajo Dam –world renowned as one of the greatest tailwater trout fisheries

Hunting:

With your southern border being the Santa Fe National Forest, you are mere steps away from thousands of game rich acres.  Trophy Elk and Mule Deer can be found in this part of Rio Arriba County.
