In fact, Lake Texoma is only a few hundred yards from the ranch (not lake front). Convenient access to the massive lake provides fisherman with amazing opportunities. Known for an extremely heathy striped bass population, Lake Texoma also offers excellent largemouth and smallmouth fishing. Trophy blue catfish provide additional variety for anglers–especially in the winter. Water sports enthusiast will find that Texoma offers miles and miles of scenic water for all sorts of activities.

Land

The heavily wooded Cross Timbers terrain of Texoma Ranch has a huge amount of topographical relief. In fact, the elevations varies from 813′ in the northwestern corner to 653′ in the southeastern corner of the ranch–160′ of change. The Cross Timbers woods on the ranch are composed primarily of blackjack and post oaks but also hickory, pecans and a variety of undergrowth. There are plenty of acorns! In open areas, healthy stands of little bluestem and other native grasses are dominant. There is also a nice hay meadow. An extensive improved road system along with a network of smaller trails give great access to all portions of the ranch. A large section of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land is a neighbor on the southeastern side of the ranch which enhances the ranch from a hunting and wildlife perspective. Transmission line and oil/gas easements are in place however they do not damage the character of the ranch.
