Location

The Kirksey Ranch is situated approximately 4 air miles northeast of Waelder, Texas, and approximately 8 air miles northwest of Flatonia, Texas. The majority of the ranch is in Fayette County, with the southwestern 17 +/- acres extending into Gonzales County. Access is granted off Sparta Field Road, which the ranch fronts for approximately ½ mile.

Topography, Rangeland & Habitat

The ranch has approximately 70 feet of relief sloping east to west. The eastern and central portions of the ranch consist of pastureland with mesquites and native grasses suitable for grazing. The bottom country along the western and southernmost sides of the property features a variety of native brush species and hardwoods, creating exceptional wildlife habitat.

Wildlife

Wildlife on the property consists of white-tailed deer, Rio Grande turkey, hogs, predators, and small game.

The ranch currently benefits from an agricultural valuation.

Water

The ranch features over 1.5 miles of Peach Creek frontage along the western boundary. The deep-bed serves as a travel corridor and thermal cover for native wildlife and holds water at times. In addition to the creek, there are multiple draws and tanks enhancing the overall habitat for wildlife and livestock. Approximately 100 +/- acres is located in the FEMA 100-year floodplain associated with Peach Creek.
