It provides up to 82 million gallons per day for the over two million residents and businesses served by North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). Additionally, the lake is an ideal spot for fishing, boating, waterfowl hunting, picnicking, and various other outdoor activities. When it was finished, Bois d’Arc Lake was the first major reservoir built in Texas in nearly 30 years.
