Two years ago, the Texas General Land Office officially purchased the 353,000-acre Brewster Ranch in Big Bend Country. At the time, it was the largest ranch for sale in Texas and still stands as one of the 10 largest ranches ever sold in Texas. Now another ranch out in West Texas has dropped its price tag after two years on the market, giving potential suitors a chance to own another slice of prime Texas sunsets.
Wylie Mountain Ranch in West Texas is now offering more than 32,000 acres with a price tag of $24.5 million from Republic Ranches. It was originally listed at $27 million when it hit the market in 2024.
While most Texas super ranches come with sweeping vistas and wide acres of big country, Wylie Mountain Ranch comes with a literal mountain range, named after Robert K. Wylie, a pioneer settler from the 1880s. Located southeast of Van Horn, two hours east of El Paso, the ranch offers desert grasslands, brushlands, foothills, expansive canyons and high mountain peaks.
Ranchers will have more than adequate room for any number of livestock operations. Hunters will be delighted by the presence of deer, antelope and three types of quail. Those preferring a comfortable stay can rest and relax at the ranch house.
Plus, if one day some Hollywood filmmaker wants to make a movie about cowboys in the Old West, Wylie Mountain Ranch would fit the bill for any type of horseback-riding adventure.
