Location
The Live Oaks Ranch is located on the Katy Prairie, in between Katy and Hockley, with frontage on Hebert Road. The ranch is located about 8 miles west of the Grand Parkway, less than 40 miles from Loop 610 and 13 miles north of Katy, Texas.
Wildlife
The Live Oaks Ranch supports the entire host of wildlife present on the Katy Prairie. Numerous waterfowl, migratory birds, whitetail deer, and songbirds can be seen regularly. There is a stocked bass pond with a water well.

The western portion of the ranch is high-fenced and includes duck blinds, feeders and extensive lakes designed and built to support waterfowl species.
Water
Lakes for waterfowl and the bass pond are connected to a central water well and pipe system to maintain water levels during dry periods. Cypress Creek bisects the northern portion of the ranch before meandering along the southwestern boundary. The northwest pasture is also bounded by Live Oak Creek. Except during heavy rains the creeks usually flow with clear water.
