Whatever the season, time spent at the River Haus is rejuvenating and fun! Just down from the confluence of the James and Llano rivers, perched on the bluff overlooking one of the most scenic stretches of the Llano River Valley, is the River Haus.

Summer adventures are spent enjoying the river while swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and simply relaxing on the sand beaches or sitting in the spring fed crystal waters of the Llano River. Returning to the Haus enjoy dinner on the deck with a cool drink and watch the western sun set on the Texas Hill Country with your friends and family.

Fall is widely considered the premier season to visit the Llano River Valley due to its ideal balance of moderate temperatures, lower humidity, and beautiful foliage. With the pecan and oak trees along the river valley beginning to change colors, the landscape becomes incredibly scenic. Fall is also the prime time for hunting, bird watching, kayaking, canoeing, and fly-fishing. Anglers target Guadalupe bass, largemouth bass, and Rio Grande cichlids, while fall hunts focus on free ranging white-tailed and axis deer, and turkey.

Winter along the Llano River offers a peaceful, sun-drenched sanctuary defined by crisp mornings, mild afternoons, and crystal-clear waters. As summer crowds fade, the river basin transforms into a private, scenic haven perfect for viewing wildlife, stargazing under brilliant dark skies, and enjoying campfires on chilly Hill Country nights.

Ultimately, the River Haus is more than just a place to stay—it is a year-round gateway to the very best of the Texas Hill Country.  From an investment standpoint the home would make an ideal short-term rental for others to enjoy with friends and family.

Topography, Rangeland & Habitat

Elevation at the front of the property is 1,400 ft. and gently falls to 1,370 ft., at the back of the home. This unique vantage point places the River Haus a spectacular 50 feet directly above the Llano River, offering dramatic, sweeping views of the valley below while maintaining an ideal, elevated perspective of the waterfront.   Rangeland and habitat features scattered timber including a variety of oak species, cedar/juniper, persimmons, mesquite, etc. along with native grasses, and standard Hill Country under-brush to provide essential ground cover for game.

Wildlife

While small, the low fence property attracts a variety of game including white-tailed and axis deer, hogs, songbirds and varmints. Fishing on the Llano River is widely considered one of the true gems of the Texas Hill Country. Because it is a clear, spring-fed stream cutting through unique pink granite and limestone bedrock, it offers a distinct aesthetic and phenomenal clarity that sight-casting anglers love. Target species include Guadalupe, largemouth and white bass.

The Llano River basin is known by Birders for the variety of native and migratory bird species that can be viewed from one of the many decks or simply through the array of windows throughout the house. The combination of year-round riparian water sources, limestone cliff banks, pecan bottomlands, and oak-mesquite brush creates an oasis for native and traveling species that you will surly love watching.
