Location:

The ranch is located 11 miles from the IH 35 and Highway 44 intersection in Encinal, Texas Webb County. The ranch is conveniently located an hour and a half South of San Antonio.

 

Terrain:

The ranch is located in the fabled “red dirt” area and consists primarily of gently rolling terrain with South Texas grasses, bull mesquites, buffel  grasses, hooded windmill, cactus and native South Texas brush.  There are 5 ponds on the ranch.  Over the years the landowners have roller chopped and maintained various strips that are ideal for quail hunting in a buggy behind dogs.  Within the strips there are some large bull mesquites and grasses.  The strips also allow a rancher to graze cattle in the off season.

The main ranch headquarters or compound sits on a hill overlooking the ranch and consists of a 2 bedroom 2 bath mobile home  along with the 3 private cabins.  Each cabin has a bedroom, bathroom along with shower, kitchenette, and flat screen.  The compound has a barbeque area along with a firepit.  Other improvements include 9 tower blinds, 5 protein feeders, 18- 1000 lb corn feeders, multiple water troughs along with a large pila that serves the back 600 acres.  Small quail watering systems are located along some of the strips to ensure adequate habitat.  Cattle pens are located on the ranch as well.
