Four Oaks Ranch is a stunning historic cattle ranch located within 15 minutes of Beaumont with a beautiful home and multiple out buildings and barns. Huge oaks and pines are scattered through excellent pastures of improved grasses in the many fenced off pastures. Location:          The ranch is located just an hour and half east of Houston. 9 miles northwest of Vidor and 15 minutes away from Beaumont. The ranch is situated primarily on the east side of Four Oaks Ranch Road with over 2.5 miles of frontage on Four Oaks Ranch Road.

 

Habitat:            The ranch offers lots of pastureland with mixed large oaks and pines in the pastures of improved grasses. This area is close to the Neches River and is crossed with various sloughs. The southern part of the ranch offers great hay production. On the west side, a varied terrain with improved Alicia Bermuda, Bahia, Lespedeza and clover grasses. Much of the ranch has been improved, but there are still native grasses in parts of the property. Trees include red oaks, pines, cypress and sweet gum.

Soils on the property are a mixture of clay and sandy loams on the surface with strong sands and mixed clays beneath the surface.

 

Wildlife:            There are deer and hogs on the ranch. Ducks are abundant and the ranch has excellent hunting. Next door to the property is the Four Oaks section of the Big Thicket National Preserve.

 

Improvements:      The main structure on the property is a beautiful custom designed traditional ranch style brick home with 3,886 square feet with a 3-car attached garage. The interior offers a living room, kitchen, dining room, sunroom, a game room, small study, laundry room and 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Interior finishes include ceramic tile flooring, faux painted sheetrock, hardwood and cypress ceilings, high grade windows, and granite kitchen countertops. History:            Four Oaks Ranch is a 184 year old cattle ranch that is one of the oldest landmarks in Orange County, Texas with rich history. One of the first sights to see is the four, tall giant oak trees growing side by side. The history starts all the way back to the early 1800’s with George Pattillo, whom was adviser of Sam Houston.   It has passed through only a few families during its existence.
