Location: Located between Canton and Mabank and only 70 miles from downtown Dallas. From Canton, head south on TX-19 towards Athens for 11 miles. Turn right onto FM 1256 and continue west for 3.4 miles. The property entrance is located off of FM 1256.

Wildlife & Hunting: The majority of the property is high fenced including predator wire along the perimeter of the ranch to help protect the deer and exotics that call Canton Whitetail Ranch home. Several years ago the owner purchased a large group of whitetail to release on the ranch along with some mature Texas Dall rams and a handful of aoudad. However, the ranch is ready for whatever species you desire to have roaming through the woods.

Habitat: Canton Whitetail Ranch was established with the idea of creating an ideal hunting destination in mind. Most of the ranch is covered in large mature trees which give the animals plenty of places to hide. There is a good mix of pines, hardwoods, and cedars on the property. Select areas have been cleared and setup with blinds, feeders, and water troughs. They are ideal spots for watching these beautiful animals emerge from the rolling landscape. The topography is some of the best in the area and boasts some of the highest viewpoints in the county. The acreage is incredibly diverse for its size and must be seen to be appreciated.

Improvements: The ranch is accessed via a custom entrance off of FM 1256. The high fenced portion of the ranch is approximately 178 acres. There are Hercules hunting blinds, numerous tree stands, 10 protein feeders, and multiple water troughs within that area. There is also a well maintained insulated metal building with overhangs off both sides for storing all the necessary ranch equipment. An adjoining 33 acre parcel outside of the high fence gives hunters a place to relax in the 900+/- ft. two bedroom, one bath cabin. The cabin is easily accessed from the high fenced area, but it also has its own separate access point from FM 1256.

Water: The main source of water for the ranch is a 1200 deep well that provides clean, cool water throughout. Water lines from this well have been run to numerous places on the ranch in order to give the wildlife reliable sources of water year round. There are additional creeks and draws that run most of the year along with one nice pond on the northern side of the ranch.
