The ranch is located in far southeastern Montague County near the intersection of Cooke, Wise and Montague counties. Prairie Point Ranch is located about 6 miles southeast of Forestburg and a short 55 miles northwest of Dallas. The ranch fronts FM 455 and Rosston Rd.
The terrain is mostly open with smooth hilltops covered in native prairie grass. The elevation ranges from 1,000 feet in the northwestern corner to 1,116 feet closer to the center of the ranch. The topography lends itself very nicely to lake development, especially along the main drainage running in the central portion of the ranch. Excellent stands of Indian grass, little bluestem, and other native grasses can be found across the ranch. Plums, persimmons, green briar and abundant browse is a offer enrich the habitat for wildlife.
There are three smaller ponds and one very deep larger pond. One water well is on the ranch although it is not currently being used.
