Era Ranch is located about 30 miles north of Denton and 60 miles north of DFW International Airport. The ranch is only 10 miles southwest Gainesville which has a population of approximately 17,500 people.

The ranch is mostly gently rolling with about 90 feet of topographical relief from the higher ground on the west to the creek bottom on the east. Spring Creek is a sizable creek with a rock bottom that appears to maintain nice pools even in the hottest part of summer. It curves through the ranch for over a mile and is lined with abundant trees. Quite a few pecan trees are located near the creek as well. Era Ranch is mostly comprised of good quality pastures but there about 75 acres of woods that provide great wildlife habitat and a scenic addition to the ranch.
