Republic Ranches achieved the #1 and #2 sales in the Top 100 Sales in the 4th Quarter of 2017 as reported in Texas Land Magazine‘s Spring 2018 issue. Overall, 2017 was a record year for our firm, including finishing the year on a high note with these two sales: the 2,493 acre Barefoot Ranch in Henderson County and the 18,000 acre El Corazon de Crystal Ranch in Brewster County.
While 2017 turned out to be a fantastic year overall, the year did have some bumps. Texas land markets, for our firm, started off strong in the first half of the year and then slowed significantly in Q3, in a large part due to impacts of Hurricane Harvey. Fortunately, by mid-October we saw activity steadily improving statewide, and that continues to date. We believe current levels of improved interest and activity are bolstered by a strong energy sector, passage of the tax legislation, continued stock market performance (including recent volatility) and of course our state’s citizens steadily working to recover from broader hurricane impacts in 2017.
