Area History
This ranch has been under the same family ownership since the early 1940’s, and was home to a registered Brahman herd through 2014. Starting with bloodlines from the J.D. Hudgins Ranch, Guy L. Jeans, Jr. ran a herd on this ranch that shipped Brahman cattle throughout the United States and foreign destinations including Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Thailand. In recognition of his contributions to the industry and quality of the herd, the American Brahman Breeders Association dedicated the 2006 International Brahman Show at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo to Mr. Jeanes.
