The Double M south pasture sits in the rolling hills just north of Hamilton, Texas. This ranch boasts breathtaking views of North/Central Hamilton county. Deep draws cut through the ranch; these draws come to life in the wet months. Several swimming holes have been developed for the kids to splash around and explore in the summer months. The deer population has had minimal pressure over the year, and the owners have done a fantastic job building a robust deer herd. The topography is fantastic on the Double M south pasture. A prominent hilltop with two main draws traveling from the Southeast to the northwest. The habitat on the ranch consists of ash juniper, oaks, and elms. The owner has done several ash juniper management projects opening up trails and clearing sections of the plateaus. There is a great cover for wildlife and good accessibility around the ranch.
Wildlife
The White-tailed Deer population is abundant across the ranch. The owners have been very selective of the deer taken over the years and have worked hard to be good stewards of the native deer. It has been several years since they have taken any large bucks. The ranch is high-fenced on two sides.
Water
During wetter years, the ranch comes alive with seeps and trickling wet weather creeks. Several spots make for great swimming holes for the kids to explore. There is a water well near the center of the ranch.
