Land: The centerpiece of the ranch is a 12 acre lake. This lake ranges up to 16 acres depending on rainfall and has great fishing and duck hunting. About 60 acres on the north side of the ranch are currently in cultivation. A majority of the ranch is hilly with lots of tree cover. Post oaks are predominant on the hilly areas but a more diverse mix of hardwoods can be found in the lower sections of the ranch. The elevation ranges from 1,215 feet in the northwest part of the ranch to 1,138 feet in the southeast corner. Relatively speaking, there is very little mesquite on this ranch. The habitat is rich and diverse.
Agriculture: About 60 acres on the far north side of the ranch is currently in cultivation.
Water: Aside from the main 12-acre lake, there are three additional ponds ranging up to 2.5 acres. There are three seasonal creek drainages on the ranch. No active water wells are on the ranch.

Area Information: Graham is a nice town of about 9,000 people and has several good restaurants, a nice supermarket and most essentials. If you want more fishing options, Lake Graham is down the road about 3.8 miles and Possum Kingdom Reservoir is about 30 minutes. Wildcatter Ranch is known to be a great place to eat and is only about 2o minutes southeast of the ranch. The legendary Goodnight-Loving trail began just a few miles west of Johnston Lake Ranch.
Soils: Fertile sandy loams rated as class 2e are currently farmed on the north side. The hilltops of the ranch have somewhat shallower soil with sandstone outcroppings.
Wildlife: Excellent opportunities for deer, turkeys and ducks.
Minerals: No oil & gas production on the ranch.
