Silver S Ranch is a one-of-a-kind West Texas kingdom.

Texas and New York have very little in common. Their people eat differently, talk differently, one state has actual seasons, and the other has actual room to drive. When it comes to comparing the two, its hard to pass up Texas’ wide open spaces for New York City’s crowded streets.
Speaking of wide open spaces. One of the latest properties to hit the market is an expansive West Texas kingdom that comes in at a whopping 26,000 acres in size. For comparison, Manhattan, the most-densely populated and most famous of New York’s five boroughs, covers 14,600 acres, meaning Silver S Ranch is almost twice as big as the home of Wall Street. So, while the $44 million price tag from Republic Ranches isn’t cheap, it’s probably easier than running for mayor of New York City.
A spokesperson for Silver S. Ranch said the ranch is perfect for “anyone who appreciates wide open views, clean water, hiking, unique bird watching, fly fishing, exploration, and those who want to enjoy God’s country and incredible wildlife. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a rancher, hunter, or adventurer wanting a place to escape the business of life and immerse themselves in nature.”
Located in Langtry, right on the Mexico border in West Texas, Silver S Ranch comes with five homes (15 bedrooms), 18 water wells and 24 miles of road to go along with 9.25 miles of river frontage. There may be no access to the coast, but those 9 miles of the Pecos River provide ample opportunities for canoeing, fishing, wildlife watching and swimming in cool waters surrounded by canyons to escape from the Texas heat. Guarantee those waters are more pleasant than Galveston Bay or the Hudson River.
Speaking of those canyons, Silver S Ranch also comes with caves full of artwork that have been fitted with fire pits so residents and visitors can watch the sunset with the best views imaginable.
“The Harkell Cave is one of many standout features of the property,” the spokesperson said to MySA. “With a built-in fire pit, comfortable seating, and a ready supply of firewood, it offers a perfect place to unwind while taking in the breathtaking views of the canyon and river below.”
So, whether it’s escaping from the world or starting a ranching kingdom or hunting exotic wildlife, Silver S Ranch might be the best kept secret along the Texas-Mexico border.
